Boys swimmers shine at Shen
The aquanauts finished 3rd overall as a team and proved they will be a formidable presence at states.
The 200 medley relay finished 2nd and made a state cut 1:38.8. The 200 free relay team made the state cut in 1:29.32. The 400 free relay qualified for states, set a pool record and secured a top spot in the state. 3:11.06
The little red swept all of the freestyle events at the meet. Kevin Miller and Jamie Lovette placed 1st and 2nd in the 200 free. Francis Schickel and Robert Mangan placed 1st and 2nd in the 50 free. Schickel win the 100 free with Mangan close behind in 4th place. Miller and Lovette placed 1st and 3rd in the 500 free. Miller updating a pool record and Lovette getting his second state cut of the day. (200 free).
Andrew Mikhailichenko paced the Ithaca imers by finishing 4th and getting a state cut.
Mikhailichenko was 2nd in the 100 breast as well.

Ithaca improves to 3-0 adds 400 Free Pool Record at Binghamton
The Little Red Bears traveled to Binghamton’s East Middle School to swim STAC foe, Binghamton. The Little Red won all 11 swimming events. After a shaky start with some missed turns and a DQ in the 50 free, the Red crushed the Patriots and capped the meet off with a pool record in the 400 free relay by 3.5 seconds (Mangan, Lovette, Mikhailichenko, Schickel).
The Little Red will travel to the Shen Invite on Dec. 19th. This will be a huge test for the team and help coaches determine if the team is on the right track.

Little Red add another win and 3 Pool Records
The Little Red Aquanauts improved to 2-0 with a a win over STAC foe Union-Endicott. The Bears won every event except for Diving. Kevin Miller had a hand in 3 pool records on the night. He broke his own record in the 200 Free 1:42.95, and helped teammates Francis Schickel, Robert Mangan, and Jamie Lovette break the 200 free relay record (1:30.21) and the 400 free relay record (3:19.02). Miller also won in the 500 free in 4:39.46, just shy of his own pool record in the event.
Francis Schickel helped teammates Tim Hector, Andrew Mikhailichenko, and Robert Mangan win the 200 Medley Relay and also added an individual win in the 200 IM (2:03.35).
Ithaca remaining individual winners include: Evan Stevens 50 Free (23.97). Sergio Gomez 100 fly (59.88), Robert Mangan (50.29), Tim Hector 100 back (58.32), Andrew Mikhailichenko 100 Breast (1:00.62).
The Little Red travel to Binghamton next week and look to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Boys Swimmers Start Season with Convincing Win
Dec 1, 2015 The Boys Aquanauts traveled to STAC rival, Maine-Endwell on Tuesday. While being out numbered 2 to 1 the Little Red crushed the Spartans 113-72.
Andrew Mikhailichenko, Jamie Lovette and Francis Schickel led the team with Two individual wins each and helped the Little Red Sweep all three relays.
Mikhailichenko broke the 200 IM pool record set in 2013 by former teammate and broke his own pool record in the 100 Breast by over 2 seconds.
Lovette paced the distance corps by leading a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 free and beat all competitors by 20 seconds in the 500 Free.
Shickel continued his 50 dominance in the STAC by winning the event by .50 seconds over teammate Robert Mangan (who also recorded a win in the 100 Free and helped win the Medley Relay and 200 Free Relay). Schickel had a great early season swim in the 100 fly and will be one of the favorites for the Section IV title.
The Little Red host the Uni0n-Endicott Tigers on Friday in the Black Water of the Ithaca High School Aquatodrome. 5:30pm.

IHS Girls Swimmers End Season with a Boom!
The Little Red Aquanauts finished an outstanding season with an exclamation point. They finished the season with an 8th place team finish at the NYSPHSAA & Federation Swimming Championships.
Annika Browning had two individual finals appearances with a 6th in 200 free and 3rd in the 500 Free. Viva La Distance!
Sophomore, Indie Stratton, finished 25th in 50 free and had a great race in the 100 free to improve to 12th place!!!
Browning also appeared with teammates Indie Stratton, Kristen Reid and Micaela Moravek in finals for the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relays. They finished 6th and 9th respectively.
Diver, Jordan Lu, had a strong showing but wasn’t able to make the Semi Final round of diving in a very strong field of divers.
Delia Ablard, Seldoen Oshoe and Emily Rubin were relay alternates and supportive teammates throughout the two day competition.

Little Red have Strong Preliminary Session at States
The Little Red Girls Swimmers had a great Pre-lims session. Annika Browning placed 4th in the 200 free and 10th in the 500 free. Indie Stratton finished 28th in the 50 free and 14th in the 50 free. The 200 Free Relay of Stratton, Micaela Moravek, Kristen Reid, and Browning placed 5th. The 400 Free Relay team of the same quartet finished 9th.
The Little Red look to improve on their placing when they compete Saturday during Finals at the Ithaca College Aquatics Pavilion. Meet start 10:00 AM.

Ithaca Aquanauts fall short of sectional title. 510-501
The Little Red overcame a 34 point deficit in the diving competition, but couldn’t quite seal the championship. The Lady Raiders took the title 510-501.
Captain, Annika Browning was named the outstanding swimmer of the meet. She won the 200 and 500 free events and teamed up with Indie Stratton, Micaela Moravek and Kristen Reid to win the 200 free relay. Reid, Stratton, Emily Rubin and Browning also teamed up to win the 400 free relay.
Indie Stratton also won the 100 backstroke for the Little RED.
