Ithaca finishes 2nd at Owego Invitational
Ithaca had a strong finish at the 2014 Owego Invitational. While outpaced by STAC rival Maine-Endwell, the Little Red had some great swims.

Ithaca at Horseheads
The grueling Thanksgiving break practices and a tough week back in our HOME pool have paid off. The Little Red had a convincing win over STAC rival Horseheads 112-71. Kevin Miller set a pool record in the 500 free with a time of 4:39.21 There were many best times by the boys. Jamie Lovette broke the 5:00 barrier in the 500 for the first time with a time of 4:59.43. Luciano Servetto shattered his previous best 6 dive score by 80 pts, achieving a score of 251. Besides winning 11 of the total 12 events, 3 of 3 swimmers scored in every event but one. It was a great team effort! Great Job Little Red Aquanauts!

End of Week 3
The Boys swam in three different pools this week. More time trials and test sets showed the coaching staff that the team is looking ready to race. The boys are looking forward to their first meet on Dec. 5th at Horseheads… The Route 13 Rivalry. First they will take on the challenge of Thanksgiving week practices….

Week Ending Nov. 16th.
The Little Red had a great training week.
We saw best times in time trials, some rookies learning the meaning of hard work, and some swimmers volunteered at the Turkey Shoot Lacrosse tournament that helps benefit the IHS Sports Boosters. The Coaches look forward to another great week. Go Little RED!!!

One Week In.
The Little Red have had quite a week. There are a lot of new faces, and a solid core of returning Little Red Aquanauts. Truly adaptable, the team has practiced in 3 different pools this week as they await news on the status of I.H.S. natatorium.
Michael Guan won the Dryland challenge this week and there were impressive time trial swims! Let’s Go Red!

Alex Meyer to Speak at Ithaca YMCA
Olympic Marathon Swimmer Coming to the Ithaca Y
The public is invited to the Ithaca Y to hear the motivational story of local athlete, Alex Meyer, on Saturday, October 25. Alex will relate his story leading up to his Olympic competition and the impact on his life at 3:00-4:00 p.m., followed by a 4:00-5:00 p.m. open water technique clinic for beginners, and a 5:00-6:00 p.m. clinic for individuals who have intermediate or advanced skills, as well as those who are involved in competition.
Registrations are requested through ithacaymca.com or at the Y front desk, as clinic space is limited. A suggested donation of $10 per person or $100 per team will be accepted on the day of the event.

Little Red achieve All-American status
The top 100 athletes in every event in the country define all-American. The final lists are in and can be seen here http://www.inswim.net/allam14.html
The 200 medley relay team of Faadhil Moheed, Noah Frostclapp, Ryan Nicholson, Francis Schickel are all- Americans, state champions and state record holders. Ryan Nicholson is also an all- American in the 50 free (state champ and previous state record holder) for 100 free and 100 fly (two time state champ and state record holder). Congrats Little Red!!!!!
