Jakob Markwardt received the Coach Joe Moreso Award at the 2014-2015 senior Awards ceremony. This award recognizes a multi sport athlete who has a high academic average and has high academic aspirations.
Kevin Miller was named the 1160 ESPN Ithaca outstanding Boys Swimmer award and coach Mike Blakely-Armitage was recognized as the outstanding Boys Swim coach.
On the girls team, Diver Ayla Bonniwell received the outstanding girls swimming and diving award. Coach Roy Staley received the award for Outstanding Girls Swimming and Diving coach. Hannah Bollinger received the Barb Gainey award for her outstanding leadership and dedication to Ithaca High School Athletics!

The Little Red have a lot to look forward to. They out performed most of the teams ahead of them on the dual meet list at the state meet, and all of the state meet scorers are returning.
This week, 3 Little Red Swimmers achieved Academic All-America standing. While maintaining at least 3.75 GPA over 7 semesters they were also multi sport athletes.

On the First day of NYSPHSAA Swimming and Diving Championships, the Ithaca High School Boys Swim Team continued their success at the highest level.
Kevin Miller is seeded 2nd in both the 200 and 500 yard freestyle events. Kevin made the All American Consideration time in the 200 freestyle and qualified for an Automatic AA time in the 500. He broke former teammate, Ryan Nicholson’s Varsity and Section IV record in the 200 Free. Miller also eclipsed Alex Meyer’s Varsity and Section IV record in the 500 Free
Francis Schickel is seeded 15th in the 100 Free and 16th in the 50 Free.
Jamie Lovette dropped 8 seconds in his 500 to qualify 14th in the 500 freestyle.
Andrew Mikhailichenko broke the 1:00 barrier in the 100 breaststroke to qualify 19th.
The 200 Free Relay team of Robert Mangan, David Korb, Kevin Miller and Francis Schickel qualified 5th.
Finally, the team of Kevin Miller, Andrew Mikhailichenko, Robert Mangan, and Francis Schickel qualified 5th again in the 400 Freesyle relay.

Tomorrow the ithaca aquanauts will compete against the states fastest high school swimmers.
The team had an undefeated dual meet season, ” 4 peated” as section 4 class a champs and now look to repeat as a top ten team at the state meet.

The Boys Swimming and Diving Team won the Section IV Class A Championships, held at Owego Free Academy. After a tough Preliminary session, the Little Red started off strong and didn’t look back. They were chased all day by a tough Horseheads team.

Luciano Servetto got the Little Red DIVING & Swimming team off to a great start Friday, by winning the Class A Sectional Diving Championship.
